WHAT IS CANNABIRIPSOL (CBR)?

Cannabiripsol (CBR) is one of the newly found constituents of the cannabis sativa plant. It is said to belong to the cannabiglendol compound. Marijuana, aside from its intoxicating effect, has many medicinal benefits, some of which research has already been proven to us.

Meanwhile, scientists have speculated some other benefits, while others are yet to be uncovered.  Until there is an allowance for the free use of this plant, the grey areas will always be there.

CBR was discovered recently in South Africa from the South African cannabis plant variant. Through the study of the plant in South Africa, researchers were able to identify and isolate the compound through spectral means, though it exists in minor quantities.

Despite this, scientists have still been unable to categorize this compound due to a lack of research. Cannabidiols were discovered in 1940 British scientist Robert S. Cahn, and for decades now, scientists have been actively trying to continue his research.

The formation of CBR has yet to be studied. However, we know its chemical properties and a few of its physical properties.

CBR has a topological surface area of 69.9A2, a heavy atom count of 25, and is canonicalized. Its bond structure features a rotatable bond count of 4, a hydrogen bond acceptor count of 4, and a hydrogen donor count of 3. With a mass of 346.5g/mol, its property complexity value is 465.

Aside from these chemical properties, we don’t know enough about how this compound is formed. It is safe to assume that its formation is like that of cannabinols and its sister compounds.

The curiosity surrounding the cannabis sativa plant is here to stay. The war on drugs and the ban on marijuana in several nations has not dissuaded the interest in research for possible benefits.

CBR is a compound with the potentials to help in creating medications that will heal some diseases. Still, without eliminating the current widespread ban, the future of this compound and the cannabis plant will continue to be a world of untapped resources.

HOW DOES CBR WORK?

There is work currently ongoing to understand how the CBR reacts to the receptors in the human body. CBR is said to react differently at the CB1 and CB2 receptors attached to the human immune system. These receptors bind with cannabinols to improve our health.

There are still no published findings or research on these tests, but we know they are ongoing. Understanding how the CBR compound works is as essential as understanding how all other compounds found in the cannabis plant work.

Without understanding their mechanisms, we cannot unlock or utilize them effectively.

POSSIBLE THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS

Not knowing how the CBR works means not knowing what therapeutic benefits it has. With more research, we hope scientists can tell us what therapeutic benefits this compound holds, as well as whether or not it is psychoactive or an anti-agent. More clinical trials, tests, and experiments are required.
